Medical examination
Medical examination is a comprehensive method of treatment and preventive care for the population, the purpose of which is the early detection of diseases, as well as their risk factors. It includes a medical examination in a clinic at the place of residence, and, if indicated, dynamic monitoring of a person’s health status, promotion of a healthy lifestyle, instilling interest in one’s health and, naturally, instilling in the patient a sense of responsibility for one’s health.
The instructions on the procedure for conducting medical examinations of adults and children of the Republic of Belarus were approved by Resolution of the Ministry of Health dated August 30, 2023 No. 125.
During medical examination by health workers:
the patient’s medical documents are analyzed;
patients are surveyed with a questionnaire to identify risk factors for the development of non-communicable diseases;
risk factors for the development of non-communicable diseases are assessed;
a medical examination of the patient is carried out and a decision is made to conduct additional diagnostics;
a registration card for the medical examination of an adult or a registration card for the medical examination of a child is drawn up;
patients are consulted on issues of medical prevention, promotion of a healthy lifestyle and education of citizens’ responsibility for their health;
other functions related to medical examination are performed.
